THE NUANCE GROUP PROUDLY PRESENTS ITS REFURBISHED OPERATION AT LONDON CITY AIRPORT
Zurich, October 14, 2008 – The Nuance Group is pleased to announce the completion of the shop refurbishment programme at London City Airport. The refurbishment was part of the expansion of the airport’s departures lounge facilities, which has culminated in the opening of a new pier with additional boarding gate access.
The Nuance Group has totally refurbished its 300 square metre main store at London City Airport, which is very much geared towards the core category products of perfume and cosmetics, liquor and tobacco as well as food and technology. The new store boasts many additional premium products aimed specifically at the high socio-economic customer profile that frequents the airport. The range in perfume and cosmetics now includes brands like La Prairie, with significant range extensions for Chanel, Lancôme and Molton Brown. For the confectionery category, French up-market brand Valrhona is proving to be a welcome inclusion to the range, as are the premium malt whiskies, cognacs and fine wines aimed at the connoisseur traveller.

Martyn Scarf, Area Manager for the The Nuance Group UK, explains: "Our aim was to create a store with defined ranges and layouts to ease and speed up the shopping experience. Many of the airport users are experienced travellers who know the airport well and often leave checking in until quite late. It was therefore essential to adapt our stores to their limited airside dwell time. We believe that, through the simple design of our newly refurbished store with its large open and inviting shop frontage integrating seamlessly into the newly extended departures lounge, we have created a new and exciting shopping experience."

In addition to its main Tax and Duty Free store, The Nuance Group now operates a second shop within the departures lounge: a 45 square metre gift and fashion accessories shop, which offers a small but concise range of Hugo Boss black label products aimed at both the male and female business traveller. Nuance has also introduced a complementary range of gift products specifically aimed at the business end of the market, featuring brands such as Samsonite, Radley and Montblanc, who are all represented within the shop through their own personalised wall displays.

The refurbishment was completed in August. Customer reactions to the enhanced offer so far have been very encouraging.
