President & CEO
Roberto was appointed as President & CEO of The Nuance Group in 2004. Prior to this, he was CFO at Gruppo PAM SpA, the operational holding of Nuance’s parent company GECOS. Having led the successful acquisition of Nuance in 2002, he was subsequently appointed to the Nuance Board of Directors and related company committees. Roberto began his career in international banking after serving as an officer in the Arma dei Carabinieri, the national gendarmerie of Italy. He graduated from Venice University with a Degree in Business and Economics, and also holds an MBA in International Finance from Clemson University, USA.
CEO Europe & Global Chief Commercial Officer
Andrea was appointed as CEO for Nuance’s European operations in July 2009, and took the role of global Chief Commercial Officer in 2013, in addition to his current role. Previously, he spent nine years at Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), where he held a number of senior roles across the business including EVP Commercial, EVP of Strategy and Development and Managing Director of ADR International Airports South Africa. Prior to this, Andrea worked for the Accor Group’s Carlson Wagonlit Travel division where he became Vice President of Southern Europe operations. He graduated with Honours (Magna cum Laude) in Business and Economics from the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’.
Philippe was appointed as CEO of The Nuance Group Australia in March 2013. Philippe has over 25 years’ experience in retail, spent in general merchandise, fashion and department stores as well as travel retail in New Zealand and Australia. He worked in companies such as Farmers Deka Ltd. During his time at Nuance Philippe has witnessed significant change. He is working closely with our merchandise and operations teams, global team as well as our airport partners. Philippe holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from the University of Canterbury New Zealand.
EVP Information Technology & Logistics
Francesco joined The Nuance Group as Chief Information Officer in 1997 and was appointed EVP Information Technology & Logistics later that year. He began his career as an IT Consultant and project leader in Switzerland and later joined Bally International Ltd as Information System Coordinator, where he was promoted to the holding company’s Head of Information Systems. Francesco also spent four years in Japan as Chief Information Officer at Nihon Siber Hegner Group. He holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering & Information Technology from the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zürich, as well as a Degree in Quantitative Economics and Finance from the University of St. Gallen.
EVP Business Analysis & Strategy
Elisa joined Nuance in January 2011 as EVP Business Analysis & Strategy. In addition to the Strategy Department, Elisa is also leading the new global Business Development function that was created in April 2013 in order to define geographical BD priorities and coordinate the different regions in achieving their BD objectives. Previously she was a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group, where she spent more than a decade working with and advising leading travel retailers, international food retailers, department stores, speciality chains and consumer product producers on a range of areas such as strategy and business planning, category management, organisational structure, sales & marketing and M&A. Elisa graduated from Politecnico di Milano with a Masters in Business and Process Engineering, and also holds an MBA from INSEAD, France/Singapore.
Chief Financial Officer
Nicolas was appointed as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer in February 2013. Prior to this he was CFO at Conbipel, an Italian fashion retailer. Nicolas has worked across Europe in a number of senior finance roles for retailers such as Conbipel, Grand Optical and Grand Vision. He brings with him relevant experience having successfully improved the financial structure, reporting and performance in different businesses. Nicolas holds a Masters in Finance and Accounting (MSTCF / DESCF) from Université Bordeaux IV.
CEO Nuance-Watson Asia
Alessandra has been managing Nuance-Watson since 1999, and joined the Company from the LVMH Group, where she was responsible for Guerlain across the North Asia Pacific region. Bringing more than 25 years’ industry experience to her role, she began her career in Europe with Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson and the Revlon Group in brand management and marketing, before moving to L’Oreal Group Asia for 10 years, where she held roles as Marketing Director, General Manager and Division General Manager. Alessandra has a Degree in Applied Economics from the University of Leuven, Belgium and also holds an MBA in International Marketing and Finance from the University of Oregon, USA.
CEO North America
Richard joined The Nuance Group in 2003 as CFO for the Company’s North American operations, and was promoted to CEO six months later. He has a proven track record in finance, economics and management in multinational corporations, with over 20 years of retail experience in the North American market, most recently with Hachette Distribution Services and Loblaw Companies. Richard obtained his Chartered Accountancy in 1991 with KPMG and has passed the Canadian Securities exam.
